關于 Web 未來的思辯

今年6月11日，Rensselaer Polytechnic 學院將和 Tetherless World Research Constellation 聯合召開一次辯論會，探討 Web 的未來。與會者將包括 Web 的發明人 Berners-Lee。論題將全部由普通用戶提出，目前最受歡迎的論題包括：

語意的 Web 是個夢嗎？

90年代后期互聯網應用爆發的原因是，一個懂得適當技術的人可以通過 HTML 編碼或 Web 編輯器創建網站，然而我所知道的語意 Web 的知識對非技術人員來說是令人費解的。Web 語言是否過于技術化而難以普及？在網站結構中運用語意技術的動機是什么？

網絡中立是否民主的根基？

Berners-Lee 曾說，“網絡中立性是民主的媒體基礎”，大家是否同意？

多語種互聯網 - 興起還是衰敗？

互聯網目前仍以英文為主，隨著越來越多的人訪問互聯網，但其它語種的重要性正在凸顯，我們將如何越過語言的障礙，你能預見一種翻譯工具可以幫我們實現跨文化交流嗎？

你能想象將來一個沒有語意的 Web 嗎？這樣的 Web 是什么樣？

如果 Berners-Lee 從未有過語意 Web 的思考，同時，諸如 RDF/S, OWL, SPARQL 一類的技術也沒有發展起來，你認為 Web 發展到現在會是什么樣？它的將來呢？語意 Web 是否不可避免？

我們如何應對用戶在社會網絡中的數據爆炸？

MySpace， Facebook 一類的社會網絡，以及 Flickr, YouTube, Twitter 一類的應用產生的大量數據將用戶包圍，而用戶沒有有效的語意過濾，這將導致怎樣的后果？

我們是否應當對 Web 進行控制？

Berners Lee 曾說過，雖然他設計了 Web，Web 的全面發展卻是成千上萬的人各盡所能的結果。他曾不斷呼吁真正開放的 Web，Web 需要代表任何思想，任何資料，任何觀點，然而，多年來的兒童色情，恐怖主義，乃至于人類妄為都可以借助 Web 進行，我們是否應當對 Web 進行控制？
